The Change Consultant supports Change Leadership efforts individually or as part of a cross-departmental Team charged with implementing initiatives and/or changes across Southwest by identifying causes, anticipating implications and making informed decisions. This role may work both independently and under the general direction of a more experienced Change Leadership practitioner to handle complex, confidential, and sensitive situations. The Change Consultant is a problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset that is ready to pilot the future of Southwest Airlines.

Responsibilities
- Assumes a high level of responsibility and ownership for assigned work/projects; requires minimal oversight
- Assumes the role of the project/program Change Lead in managing the overall Change Leadership strategy, timelines, and deliverables for low to medium complexity projects or initiatives
- Supports the project/program Change Lead in managing the overall Change Leadership strategy, timeline, and deliverables for high complexity projects or initiatives
- Employs critical/strategic thinking to identify issues, question assumptions, develop comprehensive solutions/recommendations and escalate for resolution if needed
- Build strong, trusting relationships with project Team Members, key Stakeholders, and Executive Sponsor
- Conducts business impact and risk assessments to determine people, process, and technology impacts at the company, department, and job-specific levels and determines the best approach for addressing impacts and risks
- Develops, delivers, facilitates, and/or participates in various meetings, workshops, and developmental opportunities
- Develop and deliver presentations and other change collateral for all levels of the organization
- Develop and execute coordinated, comprehensive change and communication plans (including ample opportunities for two-way dialogue) to improve stakeholder readiness and adoption
- Develops and implements strategies and plans for aligning Leaders and all levels of Stakeholders to project goals and objectives
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- General to intermediate knowledge of Change Leadership principles
- General to intermediate knowledge of methods of communication, training, and project planning techniques, processes, and impacts
- Exhibits strong oral communication and presentation delivery skills
- Works systematically to resolve problems, identify causes, anticipate implications and make informed decisions?
- Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and challenges assumptions in a constructive way; pursues innovations and creative solutions
- Intermediate knowledge of focused business area and sometimes relies on subject matter expert to predict or understand the project impact?
- Handles complex, confidential and sensitive situations appropriately and maintains objectivity?
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Intermediate to advanced skills in using Microsoft Office Suite
- The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Preferred: General to intermediate knowledge of methods of communication, training, and project planning techniques, processes, and impacts
- Preferred: Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Advanced-level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Change Leadership on enterprise-wide projects, solving complex problems, and driving multiple Stakeholders towards change adoption

Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
- Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- May require extended work hours per Leader’s request
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $110,900 – $123,200 depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
