The William D. Ruckelshaus Center is seeking candidates to fill a 12-month, temporary, renewable, full-time Project Specialist position. The successful candidate will use independent judgment to provide support to one or more of the Center’s ongoing projects. The position involves complex planning, logistical support, outreach, public engagement, and conflict resolution both independently and in collaboration with project leads and project teams. The Project Specialist position provides crucial coordination and project management for the Center’s collaborative governance projects. May also help develop projects or assist with facilitation and project leadership.

Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Intermediate or advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, TEAMS and PowerPoint), Zoom, Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat, and browsing application.
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience providing highly organized logistical support.
- Must be able to occasionally work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mediation and conflict resolution experience.
- Working knowledge of public policy processes.

Monthly Salary: $4,386.85 – $6,580.27 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. For additional information, please review WSU’s Administrative Professional Compensation. This is a Temporary position.
Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end August 31, 2024. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
