Description:
Atlas Copco is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join the Industrial Flow North America team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will handle daily accounting operations, assist with month-end close processes, and provide support to both your accounting colleagues and cross-functional departments. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run daily cash reports to reconcile and monitor bank transactions.
- Prepare and maintain working files for posting journal entries into the general ledger during closing cycles.
- Perform reconciliations and analysis for assigned balance sheet and P&L accounts.
- Manage vendor data by adding and updating information in SAP Business One.
- Process intercompany transactions and freight invoices.
- Assist with accruals, allocations, and other journal entries as part of month-end closing activities.
- Support the Accounting Manager in conducting internal audits, overseeing inventory count procedures, and executing ad hoc financial projects.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Associate’s degree with active pursuit of a Bachelor’s in Finance or Accounting.
- Foundational understanding of GAAP accounting standards.
- 0–1 years of accounting-related experience, ideally in a role preparing you for this position.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a team-focused environment.
