Description:
Grow Therapy is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the finance team and help manage critical accounting processes. Grow Therapy is a technology-driven mental healthcare platform that empowers therapists, insurance payors, and patients, helping make mental health services more accessible. Since its launch in February 2021, Grow Therapy has supported thousands of therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients nationwide.
As a Staff Accountant, you will oversee accounting workstreams such as revenue, accounts receivable, payroll, and accounts payable, while assisting with process improvements and financial reporting. You will work closely with the Senior Manager of Accounting, Senior Accountant, and Strategic Finance teams, ensuring accurate financial operations and compliance with GAAP standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage core accounting processes, including Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Accounts Payable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Execute month-end close activities and maintain general ledger entries to support internal reporting and decision-making
- Support financial audits, tax compliance, and provide necessary documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support growth initiatives and ensure accounting processes scale effectively
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of accounting experience in public accounting, consulting, or high-growth startup environments (Big 4 experience preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Solid working knowledge of GAAP; experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition and/or healthcare industry a plus
- Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze financial data accurately
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
- Team-oriented mindset with problem-solving skills and willingness to take on ad hoc projects
- CPA track strongly preferred
Work Arrangement:
- Hybrid role: Onsite in NYC office three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday) or fully remote with ET/CT hours preferred
- Travel 2–3 times per year for company and department offsites
- Base compensation varies depending on experience, qualifications, and location
