Description:
Lane Enterprises, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join its team on a part-time basis. This role is based in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and supports payroll operations for approximately 500 employees across multiple states. The position requires a strong understanding of payroll processes, regulatory compliance, and data accuracy to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.
This is a part-time, non-exempt role, scheduled for approximately 20–24 hours per week. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams while serving as a key resource for managers and employees regarding payroll-related matters.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of weekly and bi-weekly payroll for a multi-state workforce of approximately 500 employees.
- Verify the accuracy of wage calculations, tax withholdings, benefit deductions, and other payroll components.
- Support the administration of special compensation items such as sales commissions, performance bonuses, and salary adjustments.
- Respond to timekeeping inquiries, correct timesheet discrepancies, and assist employees with payroll system access.
- Input and validate payroll data within UKG, ensuring records are current and accurate.
- Manage direct deposit enrollments, payroll corrections, and wage garnishment processing in compliance with regulations.
- Maintain comprehensive payroll documentation, including earnings summaries, tax reports, deduction records, and leave balances.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, tax requirements, and company policies.
- Partner with Human Resources and Finance teams to investigate discrepancies and ensure accurate payroll accounting.
- Perform additional payroll-related duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in UKG, Kronos, or similar payroll and timekeeping systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll procedures, tax regulations, and wage and hour compliance standards.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other data management applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong communication and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate Degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably within a multi-state payroll environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily sedentary work involving extended periods of sitting or standing.
- Frequent repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, and fingers.
- Clear vision required for reviewing documents and working on computer screens.
- Ability to hear and communicate effectively in an office setting.
