Description:

Burns Buick GMC Genesis Hyundai is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to manage and oversee payroll functions across a multi-payroll structure. This role demands exceptional accuracy, strong ethical standards, and full ownership of payroll operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-moving, detail-focused environment and stays up to date with payroll legislation, regulatory changes, and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Manage a broad range of payroll-related administrative tasks to ensure employees are paid accurately and on schedule while remaining compliant with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal HR policies.
  • Maintain and update payroll and employment documentation, including attendance records, earnings, tax deductions, garnishments, benefits, accrual balances, and related compensation data.
  • Carefully review, audit, and reconcile payroll information before processing and after finalization to ensure complete accuracy.
  • Act as the primary contact for payroll inquiries from staff and leadership, providing timely and professional support.
  • Oversee payroll tax submissions, year-end reporting, and respond to government agency communications or notices when required.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of payroll and compensation data at all times.
  • Evaluate payroll procedures and recommend enhancements to improve reporting accuracy, compliance controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure correct calculation and remittance of employee benefits contributions, including medical insurance, HSA/FSA accounts, life insurance, voluntary benefits, and 401(k) plans.
  • Accurately post payroll-related journal entries to accounting systems and maintain supporting schedules and reconciliations.

Required Experience And Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in payroll administration, ideally within a multi-entity or multi-location organization.
  • Strong proficiency with payroll software systems, timekeeping platforms, and reporting tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax compliance standards.
  • Proven track record of handling complex payroll structures with precision and reliability.
  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong analytical and reconciliation abilities.
  • Professional discretion and sound judgment when managing sensitive employee information.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities and the ability to consistently meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with confidence in interacting directly with leadership teams.
  • Willingness to work assigned mandatory monthly overtime as required.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience supporting organizations with 100 or more employees.
  • Familiarity with payroll structures involving commissions, bonuses, or other variable compensation plans.
  • Prior participation in payroll audits or internal compliance reviews.
  • Previous automotive payroll and accounting experience is considered an advantage.
