Description:
Kroger, one of the largest retail grocery companies in the U.S., is seeking a Dairy Clerk for its Smith’s Food and Drug division in Las Vegas, NV. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, ensuring product freshness, and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming shopping environment. The Dairy Clerk will assist in achieving departmental goals, supporting the Customer 1st strategy, and upholding the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service by answering questions, making product suggestions, and offering samples.
  • Assist customers with dairy product selections and inform them about specials.
  • Maintain knowledge of department products and ensure freshness by checking dates and quality.
  • Label, stock, and manage department inventory.
  • Support department manager with product orders and reporting discrepancies.
  • Adhere to food safety standards and monitor case and cooler temperatures.
  • Practice preventive maintenance and report equipment issues promptly.
  • Promote a safe shopping environment by following company safety procedures and reporting risks.
  • Demonstrate integrity when handling business or customer information.
  • Provide respectful, helpful service to all, including minors, seniors, and individuals with special needs.
  • Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.

Qualifications:

  • Prior retail or grocery experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic math proficiency (counting, addition, subtraction).
  • Bilingual skills (speaking, reading, writing) a plus.
