Description:

Willdan Energy Solutions is seeking a Command Center Operator III to join their operations support team in Tarrytown, NY. This position plays a critical role in monitoring and maintaining campus systems, coordinating with various internal stakeholders such as property management, security, research departments, and engineering teams to ensure smooth facility operations across the site.

As the Command Center Operator, you will act as the central contact point for real-time operational conditions across the site, including HVAC, power systems, generators, and UPS systems. You’ll be expected to review building data, identify unusual trends or anomalies, and take corrective action where necessary—all while maintaining precise and timely communication with both internal and external parties. This role also supports specialized R&D infrastructure, where environmental controls are mission-critical.

Shift Schedule Options:

• Tuesday to Saturday | 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Sunday to Thursday | 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor building systems to track performance and detect any deviations
• Analyze equipment data and investigate abnormal performance patterns
• Provide direct support for research-related facility conditions
• Generate reports detailing maintenance patterns and trends
• Maintain real-time communication with team members and clients
• Complete facility work requests via an Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS)
• Operate client-owned vehicles as needed
• Remain on-call and available for emergency responses on a 24/7 basis

What We’re Looking For:

• Solid foundational knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC systems
• Understanding of building automation systems and energy usage techniques
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and other communication tools
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage pressure and make sound decisions during critical events
• Adaptability in unpredictable or ambiguous scenarios
• Excellent organizational abilities and a proactive approach to work
• Valid New York State driver’s license
• A collaborative mindset with a strong customer service orientation

Educational Requirements:

• Trade School Certificate and High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Field (no experience required)
