We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer II to manage high-volume procurement activities across a diverse range of materials, products, and services. This role is pivotal in maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensuring timely, cost-effective purchasing aligned with program needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead subcontract management while supporting and guiding the Purchasing Department
  • Assist fellow buyers in establishing priorities for critical material and service needs, especially for U.S. Government and commercial customers
  • Create and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs) aligned with customer program specifications
  • Represent the company during negotiations with suppliers and vendors
  • Issue subcontract calls and monitor performance compliance relative to prime contracts
  • Verify unit receipts in the system, initiate orders, generate purchase orders (POs), and ensure acknowledgement documentation is secured
  • Offer real-time support to Program and Operations teams by sourcing suppliers, providing pricing data, and ensuring quick turnarounds
  • Perform full-cycle procurement tasks and maintain detailed documentation for subcontracts, including the status of repairs and returns

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of direct procurement or supply chain experience required
  • Training within the first year of hire includes ESD and Safety Compliance modules

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation System (FARS) and commercial acquisition protocols
  • Clear grasp of procurement ethics, integrity practices, and proper business conduct
  • Proficiency in evaluating and qualifying suppliers based on production and delivery capabilities
  • Strong skills in market research, pricing analysis, and cost evaluations
  • Ability to use simplified acquisition procedures and structure solicitations using Uniform Contract Format
  • Knowledge of various contract types and the strategic application of each
