Description:
Cesar Chavez Foundation is currently hiring an Assistant Property Manager for its residential real estate operations in Pharr, TX. This position is ideal for someone with a background in property management who can step into a leadership role when needed and assist in overseeing day-to-day operations, tenant relations, and staff supervision.

In the absence of the Property Manager, the Assistant Property Manager will take full responsibility for managing site staff, vendor coordination, and resident communications. The candidate must be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of maintaining a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage lease or rental agreements, and collect rent and associated charges
  • Maintain accurate financial records, posting receipts and debiting expenses such as maintenance and repairs
  • Oversee property alterations, maintenance, reconditioning, and ensure operations run smoothly with site staff and vendors
  • Manage procurement of supplies and equipment for the property
  • Request checks for resident-related financial transactions
  • Prepare inventories of property contents and physical conditions for supervisor review
  • Generate reports including vacancy, occupancy, resident traffic, and unit turnover to meet internal and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate utility service transfers for tenants
  • Assist with tenant move-ins/outs, unit inspections, and issue resolution
  • Conduct daily inspections of property grounds and vacant units
  • Assist in lawful tenant evictions as instructed by supervisors
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations
  • Travel to nearby properties as needed
  • Interact with residents individually and in groups, maintaining a positive and responsive communication channel

Supervisory Duties (When Acting in Manager’s Absence):

  • Directly supervise 2 to 4 employees
  • Interview, train, assign tasks, review performance, provide feedback, and handle disciplinary procedures
  • Address and resolve employee and tenant concerns in line with company policies and laws

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years of assistant property management experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations, Yardi software, Tax Credit housing programs, and basic accounting practices is a plus
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Pay Rate:
$15.00 per hour
