Description:
The Accounts Receivable Clerk II is a key member of the finance team, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of customer invoices and payment applications. This role demands a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and strong critical thinking. The successful candidate will help maintain healthy cash flow and foster positive client relationships through responsive financial support.
- Generate and distribute precise customer invoices and account statements promptly
- Collaborate with internal teams to verify billing information and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare invoicing packets for review and approval, ensuring all necessary documentation is included
- Record and apply customer payments accurately, keeping accounts receivable records up to date
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Compile and present reports on receivables, payment trends, and outstanding balances to management
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested records and clarifications
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and escalate billing issues or payment delays to appropriate stakeholders
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance billing efficiency and accuracy
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education And Experience:
- Typically requires 1-2 years of relevant experience and a high school diploma or equivalent
- Candidates with 0 years of experience may qualify with an associate’s degree, additional training, or relevant certification
Competencies/Skills:
- Strong organizational abilities, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking
- High attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Familiarity with GAAP and financial regulations is a plus
