The organization is currently seeking an Accountant II, Research to perform a wide range of recurring and moderately complex accounting functions in support of its research operations. This role focuses on accounting for federal, state, and private research grants, contracts, and gift funds, ensuring all financial activities align with grantor, contractor, and regulatory requirements. The position plays a vital role in supporting Seattle Children’s mission as a leading healthcare delivery and research system.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing accounting activities related to federal, state, and private research grants and contracts
- Ensuring grant and contract funds are administered in compliance with sponsor and regulatory requirements
- Monitoring and reconciling research accounts to maintain accuracy and transparency
- Supporting proper financial stewardship of gift funds and sponsored research resources
- Performing routine and recurring accounting functions with a high level of attention to detail
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to support research financial management and reporting
This is a remote position available to candidates residing in Washington, Alaska, Montana, Georgia, or Florida. The compensation range listed applies to Washington and Alaska; compensation for other eligible states may vary based on geographic and regulatory factors.
Qualified candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of three years of accounting experience is required, including at least one year of grant or contract accounting experience. While not required, a CPA certification and experience with Lawson ERP are considered strong advantages.
Seattle Children’s offers a competitive compensation package, with annual pay ranging from $73,378 to $110,066, based on full-time employment. Final offers are determined by multiple factors including skills, experience, expertise, and internal equity.
