MyEyeDr. is currently inviting applications for a Part-Time Optometrist (OD) to join its established practice in Somerset, PA. The role is based in a traditional, full-scope optometry setting and may involve same-day local travel within regional practice locations when needed. You will have the ability to practice both general and medical optometry while building long-term relationships with a consistent patient base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and overall ocular health.
- Diagnose and manage vision conditions using established clinical practices and advanced diagnostic tools.
- Clearly document clinical findings and maintain accurate patient records.
- Educate patients about their eye health, treatment options, and long-term vision care plans.
- Collaborate closely with office staff to ensure a smooth, welcoming, and personalized patient experience.
- Utilize modern equipment and clinical techniques to deliver high-quality care.
- Maintain professional communication with patients and team members to ensure patient satisfaction and compliance.
Education and Licensing Requirements:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active and unrestricted state license to practice optometry prior to employment start date.
- National Provider Identification (NPI) number required.
- Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent (TPA) license required.
- Previous experience in clinical, retail, educational, or medical optometry settings is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients and operate required clinical equipment.
