Description:
MetaSense Inc is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) travel assignment in Watertown, New York. This position follows a strict 100-mile radius rule and is designed for seasoned travel nurses who are comfortable working in high-acuity, fast-paced environments. The assignment is for 13 weeks with night shifts scheduled from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities as required.

This role requires a nurse who can deliver high-quality patient care while demonstrating strong clinical judgment, leadership ability, and adaptability under pressure. Candidates must be capable of handling complex patient needs while maintaining safety, efficiency, and compassionate care.

Key Details:

  • 12-hour night shifts (7p–7:30a)
  • 13-week contract assignment

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care using established nursing principles
  • Assess and respond to patient clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs
  • Identify and manage safety risks for patients, staff, and self
  • Safely assess, lift, and reposition patients using proper equipment
  • Perform effectively in stressful situations with strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate leadership with the ability to prioritize, delegate, and coordinate care
  • May be required to function as a charge nurse when needed
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Current New York State RN license
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • PALS certification preferred
  • Basic lethal dysrhythmia certification within six months of employment
  • NIHSS certification required within the first six months of employment
  • Prior critical care experience strongly preferred
  • Must have completed at least one successful travel assignment
  • New travel nurses will not be considered
  • Former full-time employees must have been separated for at least two years and be eligible for rehire
