Position Overview

The Internal Payroll Administrator will assist the Sr. Payroll Administrator with all corporate payroll responsibilities, including processing, reporting, and responding to employee inquiries. This role requires strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, along with HRIS Payroll Software expertise.

You will process bi-weekly payroll for multiple departments, ensure accurate compensation, and support HR and Finance teams with employment documentation, reporting, and payroll records. Collaboration with finance staff, auditors, and government agencies is also a key component of the role.

Core Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately, including tracking time off, managing time-card exceptions, approving supervisor submissions, and handling employee deductions, garnishments, and taxes.
  • Review new hire, termination, and employee change paperwork for timely payroll processing.
  • Ensure bi-weekly payroll for corporate employees across multiple states and Canada is completed accurately.
  • Generate payroll-related reports on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Address payroll concerns and provide solutions in team meetings.
  • Prepare payroll tax reports and coordinate with the Finance team.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and employment policies.
  • Maintain organized payroll files and handle employment verification requests.
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.
  • Record hours, wages, and other employee data into payroll systems.
  • Verify accuracy of time-sheets and address discrepancies with supervisors or employees.
  • Track absences, personal days, sick leave, jury duty, and extended leave.
  • Assist in payroll training for managers and supervisors.
  • Support special projects, process improvements, and on-site requirements in Burbank.

Key Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-4 years of payroll support experience
  • Proficient in HRIS Payroll Software and multi-state payroll
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll laws is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel and Word
  • Professional communication skills with discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changes
  • Must be available to work on-site in Burbank as needed

Special Work Conditions

  • Sedentary role involving primarily sitting with occasional walking or standing. Some lifting up to 15 lbs may be required.
